Baja California, or lower California, is the most northwest state in Mexico and was created in 1952.
It borders the US at California not too far south of San Diego.
I first visited Baja with my parents when I was a child and the family would go over the border for a day visit in Tijuana.
Since then, I have driven into Baja with a church group on a construction misssion and sailed in on a couple of cruises.
